The Final Stretch

At the beginning of August, our core team gathered for a special weekend retreat, an intentional time set apart to grow in unity, encourage one another, and seek God’s direction for the months ahead. It was a weekend filled with meaningful moments, where God’s presence was evident in every session, conversation, and shared story. Together, we dreamed about how to reach our community with creativity and compassion. The group’s ideas and presentations reminded us that there are fresh, creative, and intentional ways to connect with people and show the love of Jesus beyond the walls of the church.

The retreat also reminded us that we all carry uncertainties and fears. What keeps us moving forward is our love for God, our obedience to His call, and our desire to see lives transformed by the gospel. This is normal. This is messy. And it is all for the glory of God. God always does His work through imperfect people, so that His grace is what shines.

I’m deeply encouraged by the honesty, joy, and mission-minded hearts in this team; it’s a blessing to walk this journey together as friends and gospel partners. I can’t wait to see what God continues to do!

The Final Stretch – Praying Toward September 21

We are now at the starting line of our church plant! Join us in prayer that through us, Christ will be lifted high in Groveland and the surrounding areas as we continue this work. Over the past few weeks, we’ve walked through the core values that define us as a church:

• God’s Word shapes us.

• Christ is the center of everything.

• We grow together in Christ.

• His love moves us to live with open doors and open hearts.

• The gospel unites us in diversity as one family in Christ.

We will finish this month with our final core value: Multiplication. We believe the gospel not only transforms us but also sends us out to share it, make disciples, and start new works for the glory of God.

Gathering at Our New Home – FBC Groveland

As we approach our launch date, we’ve begun gathering at our new place of worship. First Baptist Church of Groveland has graciously opened its doors, and together we are excited to partner for the sake of the gospel, proclaiming Christ and reaching our community for His glory. Over the past three unofficial services, I’ve seen that success in church planting isn’t measured by numbers, but by being faithful to God, communicating clearly, and building a culture that cares for spiritual health, stays united in the mission, and lives in genuine community. If we stay rooted in these principles, we can trust that God will continue to build His church.

Thank you for your continued prayers, encouragement, and support in this journey. Your partnership means more than words can express, and it is through God’s grace and your faithfulness that we press forward. May the Lord bless you richly as together we seek to make Christ known.
